It was a pretty neat virtual gathering with a couple hundred attendees. An international event with guests from all around the world, the hosts were a fun British (I think) couple based in Spain. There was a speaker, and "celebrity" presenters. The big awards were presented during the ceremony to much virtual fanfare (with at least one unwieldy acceptance speech), and everything was displayed on screen with background music and fireworks.
Anyhoo, here're a few results... (cue dramatic music...)
Culture Award - Mary Not Broken
Best Fiction Book Award - Mary Not Broken
Best Women’s Fiction Category Award - Mary Not Broken
Best Series Award - The Bishop Women (Glory Bishop & Glory Unbound)
Indie Author Award - Mary Not Broken
Every time my name was called, I just said “Wow!” I did manage to get out a few thank yous to the judges, but I mostly just said wow. My aunt who was watching the ceremony actually called me to remind me to pick words other than Wow; and my sister later lectured me on my hyper-humility and demanded that I start accepting awards more professionally.
But yeah... Wednesday was a good day.
Jennifer Rupp's FB post took me here, congratulations on so many accolades from Page Turner--a big tough competition. I am now intrigued to read.
Wow! is the first word that comes to mind upon reading your tremendous news, although so well deserved, I must admit the clean sweep was not surprising. Congrats!
